A great performance by the team, with some outstanding play coming directly from the training ground. We must now prepare for the 2nd half of the seasons campaign.

A massive thanks to all of the parents who support our lads in all weather conditions and no matter if we are home or away. Have a great Xmas you all deserve it

MATCH REPORT

The visitor started with a lively attacking formation playing with a high defensive line and pushing much of the initial play into the Marlow half creating a congested midfield.

The Marlow attacking duo of Dan Browne and Adam Hazel found it difficult to spring the offside trap playing on the counter attack. However after several mistimed runs, Adam Hazell eventually got the measure of the Chesham defensive line and was able to outpace the central defenders scoring a hat-trick in under 5 minutes.

At this point there was no way back for Chesham who were unable to respond to United’s speed and control on the ball. Marlow kept their shape and patience and played some exquisite one touch passing football which allowed them to control the game and continually threaten the Chesham goal mouth and run out as eventual 14 – 0 winners.

Notable performances came from Steve Douglas playing as the holding centre forward in the second half and using his physical strength to lay off the ball to the wings on numerous occasions whilst also scoring his first competitive goal of the season

Wesley Bobb came on in the second half playing on the left side of attack and provided some excellent crosses into the box whilst also scoring a hat-trick.

Nathan Mockler also got back into scoring ways playing as an attacking midfielder and latching onto a way placed through ball to coolly slip the ball pass the diving Chesham goalie.

Despite the onslaught, Chesham played the game in a positive spirit and never gave up and came very close to scoring a consolation goal late in the second half with a strong counter-attack and a well taken shot into the top right corner of the goal only to be denied by Charlie Perry’s excellent diving save.

The “Flying Blues” now move onto the 3rd round of the League cup with a tie against division 2 rivals FC Mandeville Youth.
