'We played some great football at times,, although the keeper was outstanding.

When the football linked up with good controlled passes we became in control of the game.

Theo Edwards came off the bench with clear instructions on a counter attack game plan which he executed within just 2 minutes on the pitch which set up a superb goal.’

MATCH REPORT

Marlow jumped to the top of the Division with their straight fifth victory of the season following an emphatic 5-1 victory over Harefield United at Bisham Abbey.

The opening 40 minutes was closely matched with Marlow maintaining much of the possession but unable to control their through balls in the strong winds whilst Harefield looked dangerous on the counterattack. Eventually both Wesley Bobb and Adam Hazel were able to capitalise on the only two defensive errors in the half from Harefield to make the score 2 – 0. Marlow conceded a soft penalty just before half time to allow Harefield back into the game at 2 -1.

The turning point in the second half was when Marlow started to play some excellent passing to feet and Wesley Bob took two excellent through balls in short succession to score his hat-trick and make the score 4 – 1 to Marlow.

At this point there was no way back for Harefield who continued to show good defensive resilience with some excellent goal-keeping but were unable to penetrate the excellent cover by the Marlow Utd central defenders of Steve Douglas and John Massingham. The game was eventually finished off by a late goal from Adam Hazell who was given a great pass by Theo Edwards who split the Harefield defence to make the final score 5 -1 to Marlow.
