A hat-trick from Adam Hazell saw Marlow Utd successfully win their 1st round match in the U15’s Berks and Bucks County Cup with some pulsating football played at the Utd home pitch at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre.
Prestwood got off to the best possible start with a goal in the first 5 minutes after some good forward play against the Marlow defence.
Marlow Utd settled down and established their rhythm against a spirited Prestwood side who despite being in a division lower showed great effort and endeavour.
But the visitors could not hold up Marlow Utd who linked some excellent mid-field play releasing the ball down the right wing allowing Adam Hazell to run into space and score a well taken shot.
The pattern of football continued with excellent link up play from mid field through the wings and onto the forwards. Wesley Bobb continued to maraud the Prestwood 18 yard box and eventually scored the second goal.
Adam Hazell made several darting runs into space to score two further goals bringing up his hat-trick to take Marlow Utd into a 4 -1 lead at the half time interval.
After the break substitute Marcus Swallow came off the bench following a 4 week absence due to injury to score a fantastic cross field shot to make the score 5 – 1 to Marlow Utd.
Prestwood hit back with an excellent sent ball that caught the central defenders off guard and left the Marlow Utd goalkeeper stranded off his line to make the score 5 – 2
However Marlow Utd’s speed on the ball and quality passing finished off the game as Wesley Bobb took an excellent header to score his second followed by a well shot by Dan Browne to score his first competitive goal of the season.
Marlow progress to the second round and remain in contention for all cup competitions.
