Training is a key focus for all players that join Marlow Utd Youth section, this is where the development of players starts through a structured approach. As part of the training, all players come to expect well designed and executed training sessions. Click Here to learn more about the development model we use to develop players.
Training sessions are planned 4 weeks in advance and are designed to enhance the performance of the team and individual player skill levels. Focus on developing the players is key to the players success.
To support the training sessions we have introduced a number of professional people to provide the best opportunities for the players - a leading sports Psychologist works with focus and confidence, a personal fitness coach reviews the match fitness, a specialised goalkeeper trainer sets specific training programs and a sports physio looks after any injuries, but most importantly designs the warm up, stretches and cool down sessions to maximise prevention of injuries.
There are two training sessions per week, where each player is expected to train in preparation for matches - This also becomes a source of socialising for the players as they meet up with their friends.
All players are issued with the latest premiership style Adidas training kit - At each session players are expected to bring along shin pads, boots, trainers and water / sport lucozade.
All new trialist must be accompanied by a parent on the first occasion or at the very least arrange for the parents to contact the head coach for the respective age group prior to the sessions.
